What to do in Paris (Part II)

Bar Les Varietés

The best traditional food we tried. At all.
We went two times in two days. It's a very small and very french, vintage decorated lovely place.
They had an amazing daily menu which we loved. Make sure you try the salmon burguer and the beef bourguignon.
It wasn't that easy to find, we needed the help of Maps.

Address: 12, Passage des Panoramas, 75002

Le Jamoncito

A proper spanish restaurant in the middle of Paris. We discovered this place the first night. Don't blame me, my food will always be my food.

The owners were super kind, they played my favourite music and gave some lessons about food and drinks to both of us.

We had oxtail, Rioja wine, the best galician octopus in France, Iberian ham and patatas bravas (potatoes with a spicy tomato sauce)
I would highly recommend to have a dinner in this place.
Even the decoration makes you feel in another part of the world (if you like that in a trip)

One last word: SANGRIA!

Address: 13 Rue Quincampoix

Louxembourg Gardens

After hours strolling through the city of the light, we stopped at this sunny, opened space.
Lots of people-watching, chairs to sit with your loved ones and enjoy the rest of the day.

Don't forget to visit the Medicis fountain.

Patisserie & Fondue

The two words I kept using all the time in the days we spent there.

What to do in Paris (Part I)

Sunset in Montmartre

One of the best moments of the trip. We were sitting in the stairs, with the Sacre Coeur at the back and a guy plating music with his guitar.Just magic. The view of Paris from the top, the sun making everything look bright pink and light blue...

“I've seen you, beauty, and you belong to me now, whoever you are waiting for and if I never see you again, I thought. You belong to me and all Paris belongs to me and I belong to this notebook and this pencil.”

Paris Catacombs

Arrête!C'est ici l'empire de la Mort

('Stop! Here lies the Empire of Death").

Quiet, creepy and beautiful. The smallest, darkest corridors full of bones and skulls.
The history of Paris under Paris.

Just walk around

"Paris is a place where, for me, just walking down a street that I've never been down before is like going to a movie or something. Just wandering the city is entertainment."

Wes Anderson

For me too.

Day off in London

Two days ago we had a day off together, so we catch the underground to explore London a bit more.

We had a great time in Notting Hill, we went to Portobello Market, colourful and always full of life.
It makes you feel like you are travelling the world: First you are in a chinese takeaway restaurant, then moroccan rugs and Italy in the next corner. You can try every tasty and heavenly dish in the same day.

We went to The Portobello Gold for lunch. They have an amazing terrace inside, full of plants and you can sit upstairs if you follow some stair treads so you can sit alone in a private table.

Delicious Angus burguers and charcuterie platters, we keep going back every time we are in the area.

(2019 Update- Sadly Portobello Gold has closed its doors.)

After some coffee and some shopping we took the Northern Line to Camden. If you are tired of Camden you are tired of life. So many different styles, the crazy shop fronts with all that shoes, huge statues all around the place and the green, pink, red, blue haired girls. It's definitely a spot for taking photos.

Trench- H&M   Hat- Topshop   Backpack- New Look

Alice in Wonderland's white Rabbit and Mad Hatter, we found them in the street having the sweetest tea time.

"Up above the world you fly, like a tea tray in the sky. Twinkle twinkle..."

"-Have I gone mad?
-I'm afraid so. You're entirely bonkers. But I'll tell you a secret. All the best people are."

4 DAYS IN PARIS

lunes, 26 de enero de 2015

Things I still have to do in London.

When I first moved here my plan was to stay for a month and discover the city.
But life takes its own course and just after eight days I decided to stay.

I found friends, love and a job.
I can say I've never been so happy in my entire life.
It wasn't always easy but I sure had fun in the way.

These are the places where I haven't been yet and I've always wanted to discover.
